Finance Officer | Temporary Opportunity | Western Melbourne

$36.09 per hour + super | Full-Time | ASAP Start

We are looking for a Finance Officer to support our client, a dedicated Local Government organisation in Western Melbourne. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team and make a real contribution to the community through your finance expertise.

This position is a full-time, 3-month temporary contract with an immediate start and potential extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer the debtors’ receivable function, supporting Council’s debt collection processes and contributing to the reduction of outstanding debts.
• Provide backup support to the Purchasing Officer and offer assistance to staff with Online Requisitioning (OLR) processes.
• Assist with financial accounting tasks including processing receipts, banking transactions, journals, bank file uploads, and checking creditor payment proposals.
• Provide general support across the Finance team and assist the Financial Services – Accountant as required.
  
  

About You:

• Previous experience in a similar role within Local Government, Not-for-Profit, Education, or Healthcare sectors.
• Strong background in finance and accounts processes, with a proactive approach to debt management and financial administration.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
