The Senior Legal Counsel will provide corporate and commercial advice to IREN’s business teams with a specific focus on corporate projects, transactions and public company work. This role will support IREN’s commercial and investor relations teams (among others) and play a key role in providing strategic advice on the company’s governance arrangements and compliance obligations as a publicly traded company listed on NASDAQ.

Job Requirements

  • Law degree from a recognized university;
  • Admitted to practice in Australia (United States admission is preferred but not required);
  • Corporate or commercial experience including public company experience;
  • United States public company or capital markets experience preferred but not required;
  • At least 6 years’ experience gained from a law firm, in-house or both; and
  • International experience (in particular in Canada or the United States) preferred but not required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Advising on transactions, major projects and public company reporting for IREN (including SEC reporting obligations);
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts;
  • Supporting the investor relations team, including with respect to press releases, investor presentations and other public disclosures;
  • Assisting with the group’s board and governance arrangements;
  • Monitoring changes in laws and regulations affecting IREN and developing internal policies and training programs to ensure compliance;
  • Providing global legal support across time zones to the business including providing legal advice to the team located in Sydney, Australia and partnering with teams located in Canada and the United States; and
  • Operating with relative autonomy as a trusted partner and advisor.
