The Story
PlayHQ is on a mission to unleash the life-changing power of community sport by increasing participation and engagement. They’ve reimagined sport technology with a seamless, mobile-first digital platform that connects players, volunteers, admins, and codes in one place.
They’ve laid the groundwork for a digital revolution in community sport—and now, it’s game time. As they enter a high-growth phase, they’re looking for brilliant people to help make the experience easier, faster, and more connected for all involved.
The Role
PlayHQ is on the lookout for a Digital Marketing Specialist to join the team part-time (20 hours per week). This is a key role to support the Group Marketing Manager—optimising performance, improving discoverability, and enhancing the digital journey across key platforms.
You’ll work closely with the Marketing, Product, and Customer teams to manage PlayHQ’s web presence, run email marketing automation, and deliver sound SEO initiatives—making sure the right people find the right message at the right time.
This is a hands-on role, suited to someone who’s comfortable with ambiguity, works independently, and thrives in a fast-moving, purpose-driven business.
You will:
- Own SEO performance—optimising for traffic, engagement, and conversion
- Manage and maintain CMS content updates across the PlayHQ website
- Deliver data-informed, high-performing email marketing campaigns (including A/B testing)
- Partner with product and growth teams to support platform adoption and feature launches
- Monitor performance metrics across key digital channels and iterating based on insights
What You Bring To The Role
You’re a self-starter with ~5 years’ experience in digital marketing. You’re confident wearing a few different hats and moving between strategy and execution.
You’re likely someone who:
- Has solid experience across CMS platforms
- Knows their way around email automation and has executed effective, well-targeted campaigns
- Understands how to grow web traffic and boost SEO performance
- Can translate analytics into action (and isn’t afraid to test, tweak, and repeat)
- Thrives in an autonomous role and loves solving problems proactively
- Is comfortable in a part-time setup and can manage time independently
Bonus points if you’re passionate about sport, community, or both.
