The IT Infrastructure Lead ensures the effective delivery and ongoing operation of IT infrastructure services to support business functions. This role is responsible for managing the provision, operation, and maintenance of core infrastructure systems, including network, servers, storage, and telephony. It is accountable for delivering IT infrastructure services such as server and network provisioning, daily incident and problem management, cybersecurity policy implementation, and backup and disaster recovery services. The holder of this role will guide the transition and adoption of cloud infrastructure technology in the organization.

This is a hands-on position, requiring a balance of deep technical know-how and innovative and problem-solving. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the systems that underpin our business operations, ensuring maximum performance, security, and scalability.

The position will manage a hybrid Infrastructure service provisioning by both local third party and global Infrastructure teams but is also expected to perform hands-on day-to-day operational tasks and troubleshooting.

The candidate should be able to command expert knowledge and mastery of IT infrastructure (Network / Servers) and demonstrate hands-on experience in current or recent roles. The role will not have direct reports but will be working closely with internal IT Team and vendor resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, Design and Build: Take ownership with the design, implementation, operations, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, data storage, voice/telephony, computing facilities, and telecommunication systems. Manage network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN/VLAN, routers, switches, firewalls, WAPS and VPNs.
  • Hands-On Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting across a wide range of systems, applications, and networks. Lead and manage troubleshooting for major incidents to restore systems availability and business operations as soon as possible.
  • Plan, manage and execute the implementation of new technologies, upgrades, and maintenance and security patches to improve system efficiency and compliance with security policies.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and optimal performance of all IT infrastructure components.
  • Implement, enforce, and manage Lindt Group Cybersecurity policies and measures to protect the local organization’s IT environment from threats.
  • Lead infrastructure delivery projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Ensure robust business continuity processes and disaster recovery plans are documented and in place.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to procure hardware, software, and services.
  • Maintain up-to-date and detailed documentation of IT infrastructure policies, standards, processes, and procedures.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Technical Depth and very hands-on : possess in-depth knowledge across network, server, storage, back-up solutions; comfortable getting hands on with design, build tasks and solving tough technical challenges.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Windows server management (HyperV, VMware).
  • Deep understanding of network design, implementation, and management (firewalls, switch, router, SD-WAN, LAN, VLANs, VPN, VOIP).
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity principles, tools, and frameworks
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (primarily Azure) and hybrid infrastructure models.
  • Intimate knowledge of leading IT service delivery practices, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies across a wide variety of technical disciplines.
  • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and diplomatic, with strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) is a plus.

Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of proven hands-on experience in a similar role for a medium-sized business. Experience in similar role for local subsidiary of a European multinational company with retail operation is desirable.
  • Experience in managing, implementing, and supporting hybrid infrastructure, including Windows servers (Hyper-V, VMware), networks, data storage and backup solutions, VOIP/telephony, UPS and associated cybersecurity solutions, Hands-on experience with Fortinet /Meraki equipment/solutions is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in Azure AD, Microsoft Teams, O365, SharePoint, Outlook.
  • Experience in designing and implementing cloud migration and operations is desirable.
  • Established leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage vendors.

Education / Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA/CCNP, MCSE, AWS/Azure Certified) preferred but not required.
  • ITIL qualified to minimum and current foundation level (Desirable).
  • CISSP / CyberEssentials (Desirable).
