About the Role

This role will see you ensuring a commercial focus with all external parties requiring connection to transmission network in Victoria, with a view to provide timely and effective commercial network services from AusNet Services.

With a hybrid split (Office/WFH), this permanent full-time role role is based in Southbank, Melbourne with ad-hoc travel to site and is part of the VIC Transmission Connections Transmission Team. This role will report to the Senior Connections Manager – VIC Transmission Connections.


A full Australian Drivers License (Car) is required.



This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Managing & responding to connection enquiries and applications from AEMO, Distribution Businesses (DBs), generators and load customers, and ensure that regulatory obligations are met.
  • Preparation of high-quality business cases and obtaining approvals in accordance with company policies.
  • Contract administration overseeing the entire lifecycle from project creation to closeout
  • Creation of projects in SAP and understanding of the project lifecycle by following the governance framework for projects.
  • Managing the customers’ expectations with regards to the end-to-end service of customer projects from initiation to close-out.
  • Engaging internal stakeholders and customers in development and finalisation of connection requests in accordance with company policies and processes.
  • Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of business processes, policies and procedures in relation to network connections and augmentations.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationship with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of projects.
  • Ensuring effective knowledge transfer with team members to develop best practice outcomes.



You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Min 5 – 8 years of working experience. Experience in Utilities or Energy Sector would be preferred.
  • Commercial and financial acumen
  • Knowledge of the electricity transmission & sub transmission networks would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of NERs as it relates to Network connections would be preferred
  • Ability to undertake independent problem solving and managing issues to resolution for assigned project work
  • Undertake independent planning and completion of work without detailed supervision
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to obtain co-operation or assistance around well-defined issues, to exchange information and discuss technical, commercial or administrative issues and communicate with counterparts in other divisions, subordinates, peers and management, and customers
