What’s the role?

This is a 12 month contract role based in Adelaide

As a Business Recoveries Consultant, you will be a key member of Business Assist, with your role being paramount to helping contribute to the delivery of Westpac’s vision and strategic priorities.

The Business Recoveries Consultant is critical to powering the service revolution for our Group Operations customers. The key focus of this role is to delight our customers at every touch point. This involves being uncompromising about completing work correctly the first time, every time and ensuring the needs of the customer are met and delivered within our agreed time frames.

Recoveries Consultants are expected to foster a proud culture in the business in our commitment to help solve our customers financial needs at every touch point and to earn all their trust and business. It is expected you will be motivated, driven and passionate about delivering a superior service experience, meeting customer needs and balancing commercial outcomes.

  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with team members.
  • Actively participate in helping the team achieve its goals.
  • Ensure end to end processes are implemented and pro-actively encourage and champion continuous improvement programs and activities to embed the continuous improvement culture within the unit.
  • Demonstrate resilience and persistence in overcoming obstacles and resistance to deliver the best solution to our customers.
  • Assist customers in finding a solution to bring their business loan, personal loan in order by exercising a variety of tools/methods such as negotiation and questioning skills, providing, or referring to Assist where appropriate or referring customers to seek independent financial advice

What do I need?

  • Minimum 12 months experience in Customer Assist or comparable experience
  • Manages self, works well under pressure & manages competing priorities
  • Is a Customer advocate
  • Decisive, commercially prudent, effectively decision risk and reward
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and collaborative relationship skills
  • Collections experience, familiar with legal requirements/ hardships is desirable but not essential
