Tour Guide – Rumi on Louth (Eyre Peninsula, SA)
Private island eco-resort | Nature-based experiences | Guest-facing role
Part time, 2-4 days a week (flexible)
We’re on the lookout for a knowledgeable, charismatic and environmentally-conscious Tour Guide to join the team at Rumi on Louth—a luxury off-grid eco-resort located on a private island off South Australia’s stunning Eyre Peninsula.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves storytelling, nature, and meaningful guest interactions. As our Tour Guide, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our guests experience the island’s natural beauty, marine life, and cultural history.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Leading guided walks, marine-based excursions, and interpretive buggy tours of the island
• Sharing engaging stories about local ecology, wildlife and sustainability
• Ensuring all guest experiences are safe, informative, and memorable
• Supporting the creation of new guest activities that showcase the best of Louth Island
• Coordinating with Guest Services and Food & Beverage teams to ensure seamless guest itineraries

About You:
• Passionate about the environment, marine life, and South Australian landscapes
• Confident public speaker and storyteller with excellent interpersonal skills
• Physically fit, with the ability to lead walks and be outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Calm under pressure and experienced in guest service or guiding
• Safety-conscious and organised, with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Requirements:
• Previous experience as a tour guide or in eco-tourism (preferred)
• Valid First Aid certificate (HLTAID011)
• Full driver’s licence (C class)
• Coxswain certification or willingness to obtain (highly desirable)
• Knowledge of local flora, fauna (an advantage)
