Short Description:
Infosys is seeking a strategic public affairs and government relations professional to serve its interests across Australia and New Zealand. The role holder will report to the VP, Ethics and Compliance and will be expected to collaborate closely with senior business and geographic leaders throughout the organization. They will be responsible for ensuring that the company's corporate affairs and policy-related activities align with and are supportive to the company's business interests and its corporate reputation in region, alongside its global position on key issues. The role must also develop, maintain and leverage external relationships to strategically position Infosys as a leading voice on relevant business issues and communications related public policy debates, particularly around artificial intelligence, immigration, tax, job creation, innovation in the public sector and STEM education.

Location: Sydney/Melbourne

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • A recognized strategic thinker, they will proactively anticipate, identify and address potential legislative and regulatory issues and overall government activity that could affect this diversified, global company.
  • They will assess potential public policy issues, developing and implementing comprehensive strategic and tactical plans to protect and advance the interests of the company in multiple jurisdictions.
  • They will advise Infosys on how to achieve projects and goals in a highly-regulated environment, while always maintaining compliance with all laws and regulations
  • The role holder will serve as a key voice for Infosys before a range of audiences, constantly positioning the company as a leader in the government relations and public policy arena
  • They will possess established, cross-political relationships with key policy makers with all branches of government in all of the key markets and will be recognized for having the highest standards of integrity.

Skills Required:
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in government relations and public policy, gained through a combination of senior government affairs roles at other companies or relevant trade associations, and may also include government service.
  • Keen business acumen and an ability to connect business issues and profit drivers to government relations and public policy matters, while obtaining value for business interests and protecting against reputational risk.
  • Track record of dealing effectively with all levels of government, and across party lines.
  • An ability to straddle complex legislative, policy and regulatory issues as well as influence government entities that could be clients/customers.
  • Ability to develop a comprehensive strategic plan and vision for the regional government affairs program that advances and protects the business interests and reputation of the company and then execute to deliver results on that plan.
  • Demonstrated expertise partnering with business leaders to determine how the government affairs function can promote business goals and objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a cross-company team including those who are not in their reporting structure - charged with advancing goals related to complicated public policy and government relations issues.
  • Track record for effectively leveraging the talent and knowledge of the individuals within the company who are not within the government relations functions.
  • Skilled at valuing and leveraging talents of people with different perspectives
  • Experience serving and supporting top executives.
