The Opportunity

Reporting to one of the Business Unit Business Managers we are seeking experienced Finance Business Partner to lead the financial and commercial aspects of BDA's E7 Development portfolio of programs. We're looking for "can-do" self-starters, who have a passion for delivering outcomes to their customer to work within the programs to support the program leadership focused on execution and growth. These individuals will be responsible for executing and developing new proposals, working with the program leadership team, reviewing and presenting Estimates At Completion (EAC) and ensuring all customer financial deliverables are met. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys collaborating with diverse stakeholders, influencing and leading to achieve outcomes and providing complex financial modelling and advice.

The role holds a breadth of technical and leadership responsibilities and will have responsibility for daily tasking of the programs finance and contracts team to achieve program outcomes. This will include providing on the job mentoring and guidance to junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Management of all financial and commercial matters for the associated Program and / or Portfolio of Programs
  • Empowered with Financial Delegation set by the Business Manager
  • Development and delivery of new proposals and contract changes
  • Meeting customer and company business related requirements
  • Daily oversight and tasking of assigned team members
  • Provide financial decision analysis to support programs and business unit decisions
  • Financial management of programs - reporting, invoicing etc.
  • Effectively plans and manages business activities by producing and reviewing the project budgets, baselines, schedules, EACs, Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and longer-term plans including input into the Long Range Business Plan (LRBP).
  • Providing commercial support to the Program Managers
  • Key member of the Program/s Leadership Team, contributing to the development of strategic goals and objectives.
  • Safeguards the financial integrity of the Program by implementing the required business management procedures and practices
  • Leadership role model across the broader finance functional team providing on the job mentoring and guidance to junior staff
  • Work closely with the Financial Analysis managers on performance of staff and business needs.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Relevant Business/Accounting/Finance degree
  • Post graduate Professional membership with CPA / CAANZ or equivalent (desirable)
  • Displayed leadership skills and management techniques
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and resolving business management issues including financial, contractual/subcontract and integrated scheduling matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare high-level management reports to identify issues, discuss options and recommend actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead teams in collaboration with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to deliver on-time with high quality
  • Provide experience applying financial policy and processes
  • Advanced financial modelling and analysis capability
  • Ability to build relationships across different geographic locations both domestic and international
  • Change management and business process automation experience desirable
  • Competent user with enhanced Excel skills and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens and the ability to obtain a Defence security clearance would be required
