As the Senior Manager Resilience, you will develop, maintain and oversee policies and standards intended to reduce business disruption, ensuring compliance to regulatory obligations (CPS230). Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk you will oversee the continued development and sustained management of Great Southern Bank’s operational risk and resilience, business continuity, crisis management and service provider governance.
The Senior Manager Resilience position is open to candidates in both Brisbane and Sydney, offering you the flexibility to work from home two days a week.

The Senior Manager Resilience position is open to candidates in both Brisbane and Sydney, offering you the flexibility to work from home two days a week.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Working across the Bank to ensure robust business resilience plans are in place to maintain critical operations and services during crises. Including coordination of response efforts and ensuring testing of the plans through simulations or exercises.
- Targeted operational risk reviews across the business and oversight of controls to support alignment with strategy, business outcomes and compliance with APRA Prudential Standards, particularly CPS230. Including oversight of control design and implementation, recurring risks and controls review, and resilience assurance and support for APRA notification/consultation.
- Second Line risk representative on relevant risk forums, project working groups and steering committees.
- Second line challenge and oversight against operational risks, and governance frameworks.
- Analysis of risk profiles, incident and issue data, assessment of Key Risk Indicators and preparation of insights for fact-based reporting on Operational Risk performance and activity across the bank.
- Support the development of key risk management framework artefacts.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Minimum of 10 years’ in relevant risk management experience, including at least several years specific to Business Continuity.
- Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating various types of risks at a group-wide level including operational resilience, business continuity planning, crisis management, or related fields within the financial services industry.
- Managing and influencing multi-faceted stakeholders (internal and external) to meet competing priorities, different needs, and non-aligned expectations.
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels to clearly communicate good risk management practices.
- Knowledge of relevant financial services regulatory and compliance considerations.
- Strategic thinking and ability to deliver solutions to risk issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
