The opportunity
Due to an increase in demand from our existing client base, we have a unique opportunity for a Senior HazMat Consultant to join the team in our Perth office. This opportunity is offered on a full-time basis, contributing to a high-performing team.
The position will be responsible for inspections, surveying, management plans, register generation and maintenance, remediation support, monitoring, and clearance. Whilst predominantly dealing with Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs), the team also has the capability to support a wide range of other hazardous materials, including lead, PCB’s, and Synthetic Mineral Fibres.

The opportunity

Key Responsibilities Of The Position
- Provide day-to-day technical support to the hazmat team
- Effectively liaise with clients to understand their requirements ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service
- Execute all technical report writing and performance reporting requirements within the scope of works and stipulated timeframes
- Oversee technical project requirements and mentor consultants on methods of best practice
- Provide robust, professional analytical skills, and peer reviews
- Undertake complex risk assessments and detailed scientific reports
- Conduct and oversee sampling in accordance with NATA/AS/NZ/OSHA standards and regulations
- Conduct regulatory compliance audits where required
- Substantial industry experience in HazMat
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, environment, or science (or equivalent)
- A strong scientific or engineering background in contaminated land management
- Understanding of scientific and engineering principles
- PTA Certification / Licensed Asbestos Assessor
- IP401 - Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples (PLM)
- IP402 - Surveying for ACM in Buildings
- M(W)504 - Asbestos and Other Fibres
- IP403 - Asbestos Fibre Counting (PCM)
- IP404 - Air Monitoring, Clearance Inspections
- IP405 - Asbestos Management in Buildings
- Current open Drivers Licence
