About The Role
This is an exciting, newly created role within the Communications team, in the Policy and Corporate Affairs Division. It can be located in any of our capital city offices.
We are the custodians of AEMO’s reputation and have a critical role in positioning AEMO with internal and external stakeholders. We achieve this through effective management of media, communications, digital channels and energy education.
The purpose of your role will be to develop an integrated digital strategy for the communications team, provide digital support for projects and initiatives across the team and support the development of more sophisticated digital governance. You will work closely with subject matter experts throughout AEMO.
What You Will Be Doing
You are a self-starter with a curious mind and have sound experience in communication roles. Your experience has ideally been gained in the Energy sector, or similar sectors that require the communication of complex technical information. You have a passion for digital solutions.

You will work closely with subject matter experts throughout AEMO.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop a digital communications plan, encompassing both internal and external channels, working with key team members, including the social media adviser.
- Manage and optimise AEMO’s digital presence, including channels such as the website, intranet, podcast and app. This will require you to work directly with senior members of the communications team to identify opportunities to upgrade and improve our digital channels and the digital experience of key events such as Townhalls.
- Enhance and expand use of the Dynamics platform for both internal and external communications.
- Oversee the organisation's SharePoint intranet, enhancing and upgrading this important digital asset so that it is an intuitive resource for employees and supports our key internal communications and campaigns.
- Design, create, and maintain SharePoint pages and components that enhance collaboration and usability.
- Develop and maintain structured naming conventions, branding protocols and metadata strategies for efficient content development, discovery and version control.
- Provide training for communications, stakeholder and government engagement to uplift digital capabilities, particularly in relation to emerging platforms such as AI.
You are a self-starter with a curious mind and have sound experience in communication roles. Your experience has ideally been gained in the Energy sector, or similar sectors that require the communication of complex technical information. You have a passion for digital solutions.
You possess
- Bachelor's degree in economics, commerce, science or equivalent.
- The demonstrated ability to interpret complex or technical information.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SharePoint Online, including site creation, design and permissions management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Email Management, including automation, template building and list management would be advantageous.
