Amazon Australia is seeking a Program Manager, to join our growing AU Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME) team.

This individual contributor reports to the AU RME Country Lead, and their primary focus is to maintain effective project management processes, tools, and standards across the AU RME organisation. This role involves overseeing project intake, portfolio management, while developing metrics and analytics capabilities to assess project and portfolio health.

The Program Manager supports business planning and performance reviews and actively facilitates communication between various stakeholders. They drive the adoption of project management best practices and operational excellence, lead the planning and execution of major business reviews, and ensure strategic alignment of projects with organisational goals. By providing centralised project oversight and improving portfolio visibility, the Program Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the organisation's delivery capabilities and overall operational efficiency.

Key job responsibilities

  • Overseeing project intake, portfolio management and reporting.
  • Developing metrics and analytics capabilities to assess project and portfolio health.
  • Develop and track the cost in collaboration with the RME leadership and finance.
  • Leading the planning and execution of major business reviews, operational planning cycles and resource allocation.
  • Support RME site-based teams in overseeing the delivery of Improvement and Innovation programs.
  • Support the rollout of regional initiatives to improve services and cost such as new technologies deployments, sustainability initiatives.

We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment within Australia, including Customer Fulfilment, Transportation Services and Amazon Logistics.

Basic Qualifications

  • Formal qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil).
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience.
  • Experience in liaising and managing relationships between a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience.
  • Operations experience in a fast-growing company/industry.
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field.
