What are we looking for?
We are now seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst with proven experience (ideally 5 to 10 years) in business intelligence, proficient in T-SQL, Power BI, and DAX. This is a full-time contract opportunity for approximately 12+ months (with a potential extension if required). There is guaranteed flexibility between office and home based in our Melbourne CBD office.

Key responsibilities will include
- Design and Develop Reports | create easy to consume, visually appealing reports and dashboards; gather relevant business requirements and translate these into technical specifications; build automated reports and dashboards that provide actionable insight.
- Data Extraction and Transformation | perform data extraction, transformation from data sources/lakehouse sources; cleanse and prepare data for analysis; ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Stakeholder Management and Prioritisation | work closely with business users, data engineers, and other teams to understand data requirements; work with stakeholders to prioritise requests and provide regular progress updates; proactively gather feedback and regularly iterate on report designs.
- Insights Generation/Analysis | analyse data (client, financial and others) to provide actionable insights for various functional areas across the business.
- End-User Training/Promoting Data literacy | train end-users on how to effectively use Power BI dashboards and reports; provide documentation and support to ensure successful adoption.
- Operational Support | monitor and troubleshoot issues related to the reporting and dashboarding suite; address user queries and resolve technical problems promptly; assist in maintaining data governance and security including the setup of a data catalogue and access/usage monitoring.

Other Experience, Skills And Capabilities Will Include
- Experience | SQL Server 2012+; T-SQL; SSRS/SSAS/SSIS/PowerBI/Tableau; 5+ years of experience in data analysis
- Skills | Problem solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment; stakeholder management and influencing skills; time management; effective verbal and written communication; data visualisation
- Capabilities | analysing data and applying insights; solution orientated problem solving; planning and organising; gaining commitment from stakeholders
