We are supporting in the search for a Compliance Director to join a large engineering construction business.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Maintain and develop compliance related policies and procedures to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements
  • Undertake compliance risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of controls of business ongoing compliance with key laws, regulations and policies affecting the businesses
  • Perform compliance audits at the projects’ site and investigate whistleblowing reports
  • Provide oversight and compliance guidance to business including requirements on anti-corruption, privacy, local outsourcing, etc
  • Supervise or perform due diligence on third parties
  • Attend relevant company committee / advisory groups and present compliance topics
  • Develop and deliver in conjunction with the Legal Department compliance related training

The Experience Required Is

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law or related field. Advanced degree or certification in compliance or a related field is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably with a multinational company, or in a leading consulting firm.
  • Knowledge of anti-corruption, privacy regulations, AML and ISO 37001: 2016. Exposure to the construction industry will be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management and prioritization skills.
  • Team player and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good report writing and presentation skills.
  • Availability to travel about 15% of the time across Australia, with some overseas travel.
