Our services have a strong focus on prevention and early intervention and enable access to safe accommodation options, Holistic case management, community outreach programs and programs that teach vital independent living skills. About The Role
We are looking for a compassionate and committed Youth Support Worker who shares our values and is driven to make a real difference in the lives of young people facing or at risk of homelessness. This role is about more than just support—it’s about providing stability, hope, and a pathway forward.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Surry Hills, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Crisis Award Level 1.
The roster has shifts 24/7 and includes overnight stand up shifts.

About The Role

How You Will Make An Impact
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all residents residing within the refuge setting and provide informal support to all clients of the program.
- Assist residents to manage and maintain individual and shared living spaces, as well as assist in the daily cleaning and maintenance of the refuge environment to a high standard.
- Complete comprehensive intake and risk assessment for all young people.
- Maintain accurate record keeping that meets legislative standards and are completed within a timely manner.
- Complete orientation for new residents on the expectations of living at Oasis Youth Services Crisis accommodation and appropriate behaviours for a successful refuge stay.
- Work to the direction of case management plans in assisting young people to attend appointments relating to health, housing, finances, education, justice, and social inclusion as required.
- Support the living skills program and run some group work sessions such as fitness, cooking etc.
- Tertiary qualification in social sciences, welfare or related field with a degree qualification preferred. Relevant experience in a social service environment.
- A current and valid NSW Working with Children Check.
- A current NSW Drivers licence.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Knowledge of youth homelessness, crisis intervention and the ability to collaborate with other program areas.
