About The Role
As UX Researcher II , you will contribute significantly to the team's understanding of user behaviors, needs, and motivations. You will own and execute part of the UX research strategy for a business or product line. Use observation techniques, interviews, task analysis, and other feedback methodologies and ensure our products are regularly tested with users. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a meaningful career in research and UX—especially if you are eager to learn, take initiative, and grow your technical skills in a corporate yet agile product environment.
Reporting into the Lead UX Researcher, this is a permanent full-time role, to be based in Chatswood Sydney head office, along with a hybrid home/office arrangement to support a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities
- Leads small to medium projects
- Plans and conducts research; analyzes findings and recommendations
- Collaborates with stakeholders to understand the research questions
- Makes connections with overall product strategy
- Synthesizes analytics, customer insight, and help data to focus research
- Tracks patterns in analytics data to inform trends in usage
- Analyzes and synthesizes qualitative and quantitative data into findings and insights
- Asks right questions to explore problems, tuned to commercial viability
- Ideates solutions with Design and Product and rapidly iterates
- Attends to ethics and regulations, identifies risks to users
- Extracts needs from user behaviors and common tasks
- Learns and applies user frameworks (e.g., Jobs To Be Done, mental models, personas)
- Independently identifies different research solutions
- Articulates use cases, informed by user needs; advocates user-driven recommendations to improve overall user experience
- Identifies competitors' strengths and weaknesses, regulatory environment, and market trends; evaluates gaps
- Recruits participants independently and conducts work compliantly
- Seeks feedback on own research
- Applies research best practices
- Takes charge of professional development needs for training in technical skills
- A degree in Psychology, Human Factors, Anthropology, Human Geography, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years working as UX Researcher or User Researcher
- Must have demonstratable experience working with UX Designers and Product Managers in a technology / product-oriented product development environment
- Legal and compliance experience is not needed, but must have an interest in learning about the legal and compliance systems
- Able to understand and navigate a corporate culture (i.e., we’re not a fast-moving start up culture)
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional setting
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Eagerness to learn and develop your research toolkit
