We currently have an opportunity for an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment by developing and implementing safety programs, policies and procedures. In this role you will identify risks, conduct risk assessments and promote compliance with OHS legislation. The Health & Safety Advisor will work closely with all teams to drive a proactive safety culture and improve overall health and wellbeing.

We currently have an opportunity for an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment by developing and implementing safety programs, policies and procedures. In this role you will identify risks, conduct risk assessments and promote compliance with OHS legislation. The Health & Safety Advisor will work closely with all teams to drive a proactive safety culture and improve overall health and wellbeing.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Focus on implementing preventative safety measures and solutions daily
- Ensure all work practices comply with OHS legislation
- Identify health and safety risks, complete Risk Assessments, and take actions to mitigate or eliminate risks including psychological risks
- Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports
- Collaborate with the workforce to implement or update procedures and work instructions across the business
- Perform Return to Work Coordinator duties including assisting with WorkCover claims
- Oversee injury and incident investigations and develop and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate the Safety Emergency Preparedness Plan
- Implement Health and Wellbeing initiatives within the organisation
- Develop tools and resources to enhance overall company knowledge and understanding of WHS (Workplace Health and Safety)
- Tertiary qualification (Degree, Diploma, or Certificate) in Occupational Health and Safety
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in OHS-related roles
- Experience in an industrial environment is highly regarded
- Strong understanding of OHS legislation and hands-on experience in implementing risk management processes
- Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to effectively manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service
- Quick to respond, proactive in taking initiative, and skilled in problem-solving
- Proven ability to build and sustain positive working relationships across all business areas
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Current Driver's licence
