People and Culture Officer K'gari (Fraser Island)

The Opportunity

The People and Culture Team at Sealink - K'gari are seeking a P&C Generalist to join the team, this role plays an integral part in supporting the operations. P&C Manager with Human Resource related matters and leading the recruitment & onboarding activities.

The People & Culture Officer will support SeaLink K'gari operations including Kingfisher Bay Resort, K'gari Beach Resort, K'gari Explorer Tours, marine operations and support services, and will be part of a team that values integrity and teamwork

This is a permanent full-time salaried role working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About You

You will have exceptional interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator (both verbally and in writing) with close attention to detail, you ensure compliance with relevant legislation and obligations at all times.

You Will Also Have The Following

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources field or relevant experience.
  • Experience in generalist HR activities across a range of platforms.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, remuneration and benefits, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.
  • Experience in performance management.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Ability to interpret industrial instruments and legislation to provide timely advice to support leaders and employees.
  • Updating relevant documentation inclusive of P&C related policies and procedures, Position Descriptions, Org charts etc.
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff.
  • Ability to providing payroll administration and collaboration.
  • Can do attitude, and problem solver.
  • People and culture experience in tourism, hospitality or transport is highly regarded.

Key to success in this role, you will be able to work independently in a fast-paced and diverse environment. You will also have exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and be able to build effective working relationships with all stakeholders. Your leadership qualities allow you to mentor and coach leaders in HR practices.
