Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Casual Helicopter Refueller / Truck Driver to join our seasonal fire operations team based in Toowoomba, QLD. This casual position supports helicopter ground operations including fuel truck driving and general base maintenance. The role is hands-on and physically demanding, suited to individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

This is a casual, seasonal role with the possibility of further opportunities depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Ground Operations Support:

  • Provide ground crew support to our aircraft, refuelling aircraft, in addition to performing general day-to-day maintenance of the airbase/aircraft.
  • Drive fuel trucks, to support performance of Fire season contracts.
  • Provide ground support to vehicles and maintain loading equipment.
  • Perform general shed and yard work required to maintain effective operations.
  • Support safe, efficient turnaround of aircraft on base and in the field

Site & Equipment Maintenance

  • Assist with day-to-day maintenance of the airbase, shed, and yard
  • Conduct basic equipment checks and cleaning
  • Ensure refuelling equipment is maintained and operational

Safety & Compliance

  • Perform duties in accordance with all WHS and company safety policies
  • Follow procedures for safe handling and storage of dangerous goods
  • Participate in safety briefings and job hazard assessments

Skills & Qualifications

  • Unrestricted HR (Heavy Rigid) Truck Licence – Required
  • Current Dangerous Goods (DG) Driver Licence – preferred
  • Ability to work in physically demanding and remote environments
  • Flexible and available to travel as required
  • High attention to detail with a proactive and safety-conscious mindset
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
  • Prior aviation or fire support experience is desirable but not essential
