We’re looking for a Senior Investment Analyst to join our Manager Research team in either Melbourne or Sydney. This permanent, full-time position offers a hybrid work arrangement and presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to in-depth managed funds product research that drives key decisions for financial advisers and investors.

About The Role

The Senior Investment Analyst plays a dynamic role in delivering in-depth managed funds product research to financial advisers and other stakeholders. The analyst will engage with a diverse array of asset classes as required by the Sector Manager. This may include Australian and Global Equities, Fixed Income, as well as Alternatives and various product structures, such as Listed and Unlisted Managed Funds, Listed Investment Companies, Listed Investment Trusts, and other Exchange Traded Products.


This is a permanent full-time opportunity in our Melbourne or Sydney offices, offering a hybrid work arrangement.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of managed funds products, turning complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Interview investment managers and assess product performance, preparing detailed reports.
  • Create Fund Review and industry outlook reports, and communicate findings with clients.
  • Contribute to our research process through participation in ratings committees and by sharing innovative ideas.
  • Represent the team at industry conferences and PD days, delivering research insights to a broader audience.


About You:

  • You have 7+ years of experience in investment research with a passion for financial markets and qualitative analysis.
  • Your background spans sectors such as research houses, stockbrokers, financial advice firms, fund managers, superannuation funds, platform governance, or dealer groups.
  • You’re skilled in manager research, including reviews of equities managers—this experience is especially valued.
  • A generalist approach is highly regarded; you're comfortable across various asset classes and investment styles.
  • Proficient in separately managed accounts (SMAs) and alternative investments, with a focus on private markets.
  • Experienced in operational due diligence and capable of assessing fund structures and investment processes.
  • Strong communication skills, able to conduct detailed interviews and deliver clear, engaging presentations.
  • Able to simplify complex financial concepts into precise and actionable insights.
  • Highly organized with a firm understanding of investment markets, macro trends, and asset class dynamics.
  • Team-oriented but equally capable of working independently and managing competing priorities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree


Highly Regarded Qualifications:

  • Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA)
  • CFA
  • Master of Business Administration / Economics / Commerce / Applied Finance
  • RG146 accreditation - mandatory if the incumbent is to be named as author on published research reports.
