About the opportunity

There is currently one (1) permanent – full time position available for immediate filling.

The Compliance Training and Development Coordinator (Fisheries) leads the design, delivery, evaluation, and assessment of staff training and induction programs for field and specialist compliance staff. This role manages the recruitment and selection of compliance officer trainees and oversees staff development aligned with national compliance training standards. The Coordinator liaises with law enforcement training bodies, such as the WA Police Academy, to deliver high-quality programs for fisheries and other compliance functions undertaken by the Department. They will also manage team resources, analyse training needs, and develop targeted learning initiatives as part of this role.


We are looking for individuals with:


  • Certificate IV Workplace Trainer and Assessor
  • Well-developed knowledge and understanding of field-based compliance operations and their governance frameworks.
  • Well-developed knowledge and experience in establishing, implementing and managing training programs.
  • Experience in field-based compliance and investigations.
