Primary Duties

  • Develop detailed design drawings in particular electrical schematics and terminations, panel layouts, single line diagrams, instrument drawing, and block diagrams.
  • Develop 3D models of electrical equipment (including cable ladder, conduits, panels and electrical equipment)
  • Participate in design reviews and offer guidance on drafting challenges or compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain and update drafting task lists to ensure accurate tracking of work in progress.
  • Contribute to regular project reporting, including updates on progress, resource needs, budget tracking, priorities, work allocation, and team support requirements.
  • Ensure all drawings undergo thorough checking and review processes; verify that designs meet accuracy standards and comply with applicable codes, Australian and international standards, and company-specific guidelines.
  • Adhere to the engineering design Change Management process.
  • Maintain and update drawing registers, including tracking of completion status and progress metrics.

  • Demonstrated expertise in design and consultancy within the mining and minerals processing industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience liaising between clients, contractors and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and quality assurance focus.
  • Adaptable and proactive in complex, evolving project environments.
  • Experience with client standards and specifications and ability to interpret and incorporate requirements.
  • 10+ years industry experience.
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Navisworks, and Bentley MicroStation highly regarded.
