New opportunity for a Technical Project Manager to join the Investment Data and Systems team that enables the flow of financial market data into portfolio management systems that the investment team use.
As the Technical Project Manager – Investments, you will be responsible for the successful definition and delivery of proposed works and co-ordinate multiple projects / work streams with critical interdependencies. Using common methodologies you will be responsible for ensuring best practice with regard to project governance, control artefacts, forums and documentation.
Through developing close working relationships across HESTA and external partners, you will organise and plan delivery of the scope of works into relevant smaller projects and streams of work. Also leading documentation of project deliverables e.g. project plans, schedules, requirements, etc; to fully meet project objectives and communicate these across key stakeholders.
Key activities also include monitoring project costs and resources, ensuring they are well managed and within approved budgets and being accountable for good governance. Implement robust and meaningful stage gating within your programs to ensure that scope is managed, delivery commitments are met and issues are remediated. The role also has responsibility for executing our six weekly software change delivery cycle in addition to delivering multiple programs under the 12 month delivery roadmap. Due to the nature of the software delivery cycle there is the requirement for cyclical out of hours weekend work.
You will ultimately manage the end-to-end project life cycle and ensure the delivery of investment data and systems for our investment management team
About You
With a passion for financial markets, you will have project management certifications and experience and expertise as a Project Manager in the financial services industry leading technical (software or infrastructure) programs/projects and managing their associated budgets. You are someone versed in the traditional methods of project delivery – PRINCE2, waterfall – but also have extensive experience applying agile techniques such as kanban and SCRUM. You are more than capable with the Atlassian software suite – working through Jira and Confluence are key strengths.
You will be able to demonstrate your understanding of the interdependencies between different programs of work in financial markets and ideally have exposure to Data Warehousing, Portfolio Management Systems, Risk Management Systems, the trade lifecycle and different asset classes. Knowledge of Portfolio / Order Management systems and Risk platforms such as Simcorp Dimension, Aladdin, Bloomberg AIM, Charles River, Factset, BarraOne etc is highly desirable.
Key to success is your organisational skills and experience managing stakeholders within financial services organisations to deliver successful programs.
