The Role
Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will work with a busy Accounts team ensuring the full Company financials are met. Responsibilities will including, but not limited to, the following:

Compliance
- Prepare and review financial statements: monthly, half-yearly and annual accounts
- Responsible for ensuring that all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Preparation of audit files for half-year and full-year accounts
- Liaison with external company auditors
- Co-ordination of the completion of the annual income tax return and other indirect taxes
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with all current, legal, and accounting reporting standards
- Development and improvement within processes and functions
- Delivery of month-end processes, oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
- Daily treasury functions, including Bank account, credit card and expense reconciliations, cash flow management and forecasting
- Balance Sheet / Profit and loss Control and Reporting
- General Ledger management
- Management of the fixed asset register
- Management of preparation and lodgment of PAYG, BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT submissions
- Management of Dividend, Trust & Loan Accounts
- Ad hoc projects and process improvements
- Details cash management this includes but not limited to
- Cashflow projections (Short and long term)
- Cost control management of REV, COS project leads
- Analysis of project WIPs and Accruals - deep dive into lack of data, improvements in tracking and record keeping
- Working closely with the project team on warm and hot leads, ensure timeline and funds are captured in forecast
- Managing a small team of accountants and cost controllers
- Training and mentoring of accounts staff
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Experience in an Audited company
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages in particular excel
- Highly developed numerical and financial acumen
- High attention to detail
- Strong oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a fast-paced environment
- CPA or CA qualified is highly desired
- Experience with Cargowise / EDI
- Knowledge of the Transport/Logistics industry
