Senior System Administrators - Linux

• Initial 18-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options.
• Canberra preferred location – Can consider Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth
• Minimum NV1 clearance required. The higher the better…
• Play a crucial part in defending Australia against global threats and advancing national interests through cyber security and offensive cyber operations.

We are currently seeking multiple System Administrators and Senior Systems Administrator to join a highly secure work environment.

Senior Systems Administrators – you will lead and manage system administrative support activities within a key capability domain, contributing to a complex and rapidly evolving business environment.

Your Duties Will Include:

• Leading and managing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of multiple systems
• Utilizing automation tools for development and continuous configuration management of system builds.
• Managing and advising on ongoing hardware and operating system support.
• Providing guidance and uplifting the capability of other team members.
• Collaborating with system administrators and software developers to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  
  

Systems Adminstrators – you will provide detailed systems administration, technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.

Your Duties Will Include:

• Be accountable to perform routine installations and de-installation of items of hardware and software
• Provide advice and specialist guidance to colleagues to ensure best use is made of available assets and to maintain or improve the installation service.
• Work collaboratively with the team and contribute to solutions and goals of a non-routine or contingency nature.
• Design and implement solutions to issues impacting on the achievement of desired outcomes.
• Solve issues for a defined range of unpredictable problems following established operating policies and procedures.
  
  

Skills And Experience We Are Looking For:

• A Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency in installing, repairing, and maintaining network systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages.
• Experience in IT infrastructure
• Strong systems design capabilities
• Demonstrated experience in systems installation and removal
