Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital
The Pharmacist will provide a ward based clinical pharmacy service including drug chart review, and one-on-one patient counselling at the bedside, with the pharmacist being a valuable member of the therapeutic team.
This position will be offered on a fixed term contract until August 2026, working 76 hours per fortnight.

The Position
- Dispensing medications and education of patients in their use.
- Provide a ward pharmacy service to a specific ward including review of drug therapy charts, patient medication education and liaison with medical and other paramedical staff.
- Preparation of aseptic items in accordance with the guidelines set down by the Code of Manufacturing Practice, SHPA Practice standards and Hospital Policies.
- To provide assistance in the pharmacy with dispensing and cover of other pharmacists’ duties as required.
- Supervision of imprest stock distribution, bulk manufacturing of prepacking by Pharmacy Technicians as required.
- Provision of continuing education lectures for staff development within the Hospital.
- Contributes to and is involved in Quality Activities with a focus on best practice.
- Participates in determining and evaluating the quality of care being delivered to patients.
- Co-operates in data collection of hospital-wide Quality Activity projects and Clinical Indicators.
