What You'll Do
As a Product Designer within this forward-thinking government team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how users interact with one of Australia’s most important digital procurement platforms. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including researchers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders—to ensure every aspect of the platform is intuitive, accessible, and valuable. You will be responsible for taking ideas from concept through prototyping to final implementation-ready designs while maintaining a holistic view of the entire user journey. By championing accessibility standards and leveraging your deep understanding of design tools like Figma and Miro, you will help create solutions that not only meet but exceed user expectations. Your ability to iterate quickly based on feedback ensures that each release delivers tangible improvements. Your background should include hands-on involvement in end-to-end product design processes—from research synthesis through prototyping to developer handoff—always prioritising accessibility and user-centred thinking. Familiarity with leading tools like Figma or Miro is essential; your ability to adapt deliverables according to project context demonstrates both technical proficiency and creative flexibility. You will be comfortable communicating complex ideas simply while building consensus among diverse stakeholders. Experience maintaining or evolving design systems is highly valued as it underpins consistency across large-scale platforms. Above all else, your empathy for users’ needs combined with your commitment to inclusive practices ensures every solution you craft makes a positive impact.
