Project Overview

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. 

Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.   

Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2. 

Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.

Job Summary

The Transportation Coordinator oversees the delivery, planning, and forecasting of Project transportation requirements to ensure bussing is available for personnel to travel to and from the Construction site, in line with the contract for bussing services. This position will have a broad scope, which will also include supporting the wider Workforce Services team with managing charter flights, including optimisation and schedule.

Major Responsibilities

  • Plans, executes, and resolves complex problems related to craft logistics
  • Works between functions to organize and streamline craft logistics activities
  • Interfaces with craft, supervisors, subcontractors, client personnel or others to communicate and deliver craft logistics efficiently
  • Attends subcontractor meetings to identify issues and ensure preparedness for service provision and writes Contractual letters for Subcontracts team to send to service providers

Education And Experience Requirements

  • 12-14 years of relevant work experience in Transport Logistics

Required Knowledge And Skills

  • Understanding and personally complying with Project environmental, safety and health philosophy, systems and requirements.
  • Ensure sufficient bussing is available for personnel to travel to and from the construction site.
  • Responding to and resolving issues outside of normal working hours when they arise and being available/on call for any unforeseen transportation related queries/requirements.
  • Present inductions to bussing contractor personnel emphasizing Bechtel Zero Incident Philosophy
  • Administer Bussing contract in accordance with Bechtel procedure.
  • Coordinate bussing pickup/drop off points with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections of all Busses and ensure any maintenance or quality issues are resolved promptly.
  • Manage and report any potential IR Issues.
  • Arrange bussing to support transporting personnel when inclement weather prevails.
  • Supports the Security Manager to manage and coordinate access and security for remote carparks.
  • Attend the Bussing Services Contractor’s pre-starts, toolbox and progress meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure ES&H standards are being met for the fleet of Busses.
  • Responsible for coordinating non-village bussing transportation, when necessary.
  • Be the focal representative for bus transportation relations.
  • Support transportation requirements if required for cyclone preparedness.
  • Contribute to the compilation of transportation data in the Historical Report.
  • Monitor and address warranty issues associated with the Bussing Services contractor operations.
  • Understanding of Bechtel Workforce Services strategy, procedures, and practices.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of database administration and transportation related systems.
  • Experience in contract administration.
  • Competent commercial and financial management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement new systems, if required to support the broader Workforce Services strategy and services.
  • Confidence to undertake public speaking in front of management and a manual craft workforce.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, including managing relationships.
  • Proven and effective organisational abilities.
  • Understanding of conflict resolution.
  • Must have the right to work in Australia and experience within an industrial environment is preferred.
