This pivotal role will work closely with finance teams across the country—ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic alignment while identifying ways to improve store performance and operational efficiency.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager – Joint Venture Stores, this role is a key driver of financial rigour, business case development, provision management, and collaborative engagement across our growing group of JV stores.

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and commercially driven Finance Business Partner – Joint Venture Stores to lead budgeting, forecasting, financial governance and issue resolution across our JV store network. This pivotal role will work closely with finance teams across the country—ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic alignment while identifying ways to improve store performance and operational efficiency.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager – Joint Venture Stores, this role is a key driver of financial rigour, business case development, provision management, and collaborative engagement across our growing group of JV stores.
What You’ll Do
Budgeting & Forecasting Leadership
- Own and drive the budgeting and forecasting process for all joint venture stores.
- Build robust financial models and tools to improve forecasting accuracy and accountability.
- Align budgets with wider strategic objectives, collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Ensure financial governance and compliance with internal policies, accounting standards and audit requirements.
- Monitor financial risk and support audit processes.
- Deliver timely, accurate reporting across P&L and balance sheets.
- Analyse variances, performance trends and provide commercial insights.
- Gatekeep balance sheet reconciliations and ensure ledger accuracy, including GRNI and GIT.
- Conduct regular store visits to support finance teams, identify challenges and implement improvement initiatives.
- Partner closely with operational leaders to drive profitability and improve processes.
- Lead the JV Finance Forum, fostering collaboration, sharing best practices and unifying financial standards across stores.
- Reduce aged provisions related to obsolete stock and doubtful debts.
- Ensure stores maintain clean stock and invoice records, taking a proactive approach to financial hygiene.
- Provide reporting and recommend corrective actions for aged balances and risk indicators.
- Support the development of business cases for new stores, relocations, and acquisitions in partnership with the Network Development team.
- Provide financial modelling and ROI analysis to inform investment decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; CPA or CA qualified.
- At least 5 years’ experience in finance business partnering, budgeting, forecasting and commercial finance within a retail environment.
- Proven expertise in financial governance, reconciliations, and provision management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence and build trusted relationships with operational teams.
- Commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capability.
- Confident with systems and tools for financial modelling, reporting and dashboards.
