Where the team fits in
Ad Operations sit in the Customer Solutions & Operations team, part of the Customer Group headed by Kul Singh. The Ad Operations team work closely with the Sales, Product and Technical Operation teams, activating impactful onsite digital advertising campaigns for our customers to help them achieve their digital marketing goals.
What The Role Is All About
The Advertising Operations Manager will lead and mentor a team of Digital Campaign Managers (DCM), and Digital Campaign Executives (DCEs) spread across Melbourne, Sydney and Manila in the Philippines - with responsibility for their training and professional development as well as the day-to-day operations of setting up and running all our onsite campaigns and eDMs.
You are responsible for the success of our strategy, delivering best in class customer support, high value insights and recommendations, audience specialisation and technical consulting.
Leadership/ Team Management
- Create and execute clear commitments/ OKRs, and continuing education programs to support team development and achievement of commercial goals.
- Engage in regular professional development conversations with all team members to foster a culture of high performance and help individuals realise their full potential
- Create, foster and review department wide expectations and performance standards and ensure Advertising Operations both on and offshore are providing exemplary service at every level.
- Be an effective key Point of Service (POS) for escalations and communication between DCMs, DCEs, internal and/or external stakeholders including Customers - to ensure all campaign or commercial issues are swiftly resolved.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of all campaigns by performing regular quality control measures.
- Lead by example in adopting, developing and implementing efficient best practices and processes in operations and across related teams.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to define on and offshore resource allocations and adjust team focus to help reach REA goals at the enterprise level.
- Make recommendations on campaign and creative executions to both internal and external stakeholders when necessary.
- Provide strategic insights, support and recommendations to sales during pre-sales processes and activities where necessary.
- Help develop effective campaign processes to ensure positive ROI is achieved.
- Own the performance of your campaigns and be a competent addition and resource to your account managers.
- Manage ongoing campaign performance: flag under-performance issues, inform of creative change recommendations and create and process re-allocations, optimisations and media schedules.
- Help generate competitive analysis reports using recognised tools to identify new business leads and opportunities for sales teams.
- Be an effective point of service and liaison between external customers, sales and operational teams on and offshore.
- Ensure that campaign information is easy to access for all customers.
- Participate in regular WIPs and meetings, as necessary, with internal and external customers.
- Be proactive in seeking revenue driving solutions and innovations with key stakeholders in sales and operations.
- Review and provide feedback on new processes, tools and product releases that will improve operational efficiencies.
- Be proactive in driving knowledge sharing, innovation and efficiencies in the Ad Operations team.

- 4+ years’ experience trafficking CPM, CPC, CPA and CPMA online campaigns and/or prior experience in digital ad operations, digital media or an equivalent discipline.
- Experience in managing individuals/teams preferably in an operations team or environment.
- Ability to work productively in a fast paced and agile environment - #gsd (urban dictionary will help on this one!)
- Ability to think creatively and look at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of the wider media landscape and technologies.
- Working knowledge of SAS and/or other ad serving solutions, Moat
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Basic HTML5, JavaScript and debugging skills.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
