We now seek a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be based in our Sydney, Australia office.
his is a key client-facing role responsible for leading projects of varying sizes from concept through to delivery. You'll help shape innovative engineering solutions, mentor junior team members, and strengthen our presence in the ANZ region.

Role Responsibilities
Candidates must demonstrate strong working knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and regulations, including:
- NCC/BCA (National Construction Code / Building Code of Australia)
- AS/NZS 1668, 3666, 1682, 1851 and other relevant mechanical and HVAC standards
- Local authority and statutory body requirements (e.g. Sydney Water, Fire Services NSW)
- Green Star and NABERS principles (desirable)
- Lead the mechanical design and coordination of projects, including data centres, commercial offices, retail, and hospitality developments.
- Ensure designs comply with Australian codes and regulations, client specifications, and best practice in sustainable design.
- Develop mechanical system designs including HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, and BMS/controls integration.
- Conduct site inspections, testing, and reporting on mechanical services installations.
- Engage with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support the preparation of design documentation, specifications, tender submissions, and technical reports.
- Mentor and provide technical oversight to graduates and junior engineers.
- Participate in internal technical reviews and ensure quality assurance processes are met.
You will need to possess the following professional and technical expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (essential)
- Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards (desirable)
- Membership with Engineers Australia (or eligibility)
- Minimum 6+ years' experience in mechanical building services engineering, preferably in a consultancy setting.
- Solid understanding of the Australian construction and development landscape, including contractor liaison and site coordination.
- Demonstrated proficiency with industry software including AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical calculation tools (e.g. CAMEL, DuctPro, or similar).
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and scope.
