Position overview
ANU Marketing and Communications (AMC) is the University's central point for internal and external communication, media relations, public events, government relations and brand and marketing activities.
The Office of Public Affairs consists of three main streams of work: Media Relations, Publications and Corporate Communications. Our audiences include staff and students, government departments and agencies, media and the public. The office publishes high quality communications on a wide range of channels including web, social media, print, radio, video and digital platforms.
We are looking for a motivated and talented individual to join our Media team. The Media Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering a range of communication products.
This news-focused position plays a key role in the effort to find and tell great ANU stories to a range of audiences through the media, ANU digital and print publications, and social media.
The Media Communications Officer undertakes key tasks to ensure the smooth running of the University’s daily media operations, including media training, monitoring the ANU Media inbox and hotline, and providing responses to journalists on behalf of the University.
The ideal applicant will have experience in a similar role or in journalism and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Strong technical proficiency in communication tools is also essential.
