Your new role

As an Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Worker, you will deliver AOD services to clients within the Central Highlands region experiencing or at risk of homelessness, in particular people who are rough sleeping. In this role you will provide intensive AOD support through outreach as well as in the office.

Support work that you will provide will involve overdose prevention, withdrawal support, counselling, case management, advocacy, and referral to other appropriate services such as detox and rehabilitation as appropriate.

Your skills and experience

  • Minimum Diploma level qualification such as Allied Health or Alcohol and Other Drugs, Psychology, Counselling, Social Work
  • Full drivers licence valid in Victoria
  • Demonstrated case management experience with the ability to coordinate cases for marginalised individuals with complex issues
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients with a dual diagnosis will be highly regarded
  • Willingness to provide assertive outreach in a homeless setting.
  • A high level of administrative and computer literacy and efficiency working with various software.
