We're working with a global leader in the mining and resources sector to recruit an experienced Project Engineer for a high-impact study phase role based in Brisbane, with occasional travel to site overseas.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to major project studies with a long-term global mining operation, while collaborating closely with engineering teams and stakeholders across various disciplines.

About The Role

You’ll play a key part in delivering the OT Concentrator Regrind Optimisation Project, currently moving through the Definitive Engineering Study phase. Acting as the vital link between the project team and the Engineering Service Provider (ESP), you’ll ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and budget, and help drive project outcomes that align with strategic goals.

Additionally, you’ll provide flexible support to other ongoing studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning and execution of the Definitive Engineering Study
  • Liaise between internal stakeholders and the ESP to maintain technical alignment
  • Monitor project progress, risks, and reporting in line with governance frameworks
  • Support the review and validation of engineering deliverables
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (process, mechanical, electrical, controls)
  • Feed study outcomes into broader project planning and execution strategies
  • Contribute to capital cost estimating, scheduling, and risk analysis
  • Participate in site visits to Mongolia to support stakeholder engagement and study validation

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Electrical or similar)
  • 10+ years’ experience in project engineering or study roles within mining or heavy industry
  • Proven background in engineering study phases (PFS, FS, or Definitive)
  • Strong understanding of concentrator operations and mineral processing systems
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Collaborative and adaptable mindset – able to work across diverse, cross-cultural teams
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required
