Senior Electrical Engineer - Building Services

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Perth. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about electrical design within the built environment and who thrives in a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

Role Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Building Services team, you will take the lead on the design and delivery of electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial developments, healthcare, defence, education, transport infrastructure, and high-rise residential buildings. You will be responsible for managing project deliverables, mentoring junior engineers, and engaging directly with clients and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process from concept through to detailed design and construction documentation
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings in accordance with Australian Standards, NCC, and client requirements
• Coordinate with other building services disciplines including mechanical, hydraulic, fire, and sustainability engineers
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and drafters
• Attend and lead project meetings, design workshops, and client presentations
• Conduct site inspections and support construction phase services
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance processes are adhered to across all project stages
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation in collaboration with project managers
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in electrical building services engineering in Australia
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards, NCC, and relevant regulatory requirements
• Proficient in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design tools (e.g., PowerCAD, Dialux/Relux)
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality outcomes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams
• Chartered status (CPEng) or progress toward it will be highly regarded
