Position Information

Glenwood Public School (enrolments 213, 61% students from a non-English speaking background, 19 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students) is located in the suburb of Glenfield, bordering the Liverpool and Campbelltown Local Government Areas (LGAs). The school currently has 10 mainstream classrooms.

Glenwood Public School has a strong focus on knowing the whole student and using data-driven conversations, through whole-school structured processes, to deliver learning environments that cater for students' needs and growth. The school has committed staff who work collegially to support students' learning through embedded and explicit systems that promote collaboration, professional dialogue and effective practice.


Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education, with the ability to develop and deliver high-quality release from face-to-face programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage students through innovative teaching and learning experiences whilst promoting critical and creative thinking, digital literacy and a love of literature.
  • Capacity to effectively manage a flexible library space and its resources, which functions as a learning hub for the school, utilising the Oliver Library Management System.
  • Highly developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and the wider school community, and contribute positively to the whole school culture.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.



Special Notes

A permanent part time teacher for 3 days per week 0.6FTE (Full-time equivalent) vacancy exists at Glenwood Public School.


If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
