Kmart Australia’s Merchandise and Supply Chain technology group is responsible for bringing products that delight our customers from across the globe. A team of more than 200 technology professionals, they are responsible for building, managing, supporting, and improving some of the most sophisticated Merchandise, Inventory, Product Sourcing and Supply Chain retail technology in Australia, New Zealand and globally.
Your team will build and manage solutions that greatly expand our online shopping capabilities, allowing us to offer an even greater range of merchandise and create a more seamless shopping experience for our customers and staff. What You’ll Be Doing
- Taking ownership of a brand new critical online shopping platform, leveraging modern DevOps practices, emphasizing CI/CD and automation testing for optimal efficiency and reliability.
- Leading a team of On and Offshore DevOps specialists, providing technical guidance, mentoring to junior engineers and enabling the team to “Grow Together”.
- Leveraging cloud technologies, particularly AWS, to enhance system scalability and performance.
- Acting as an escalation point for critical support activities relating to a critical online merchandise platform.
- Upholding clean code principles through the coding and unit testing of new software products.
- Contributing to the maintenance of existing products and the development of new features on existing applications.
- Showcasing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.
- Playing a key role in requirements gathering and technical design, contributing to the overall success of the development process.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, supporting engineers and promoting growth and development of team members.
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps Environments with an eye on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement with the ability to influence product owners and enable large-scale, distributed rollout of devices and telephony services.
- Proven experience in Full Stack Software development and a background in .NET technologies.
- Track record of delivering software through modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD and automation testing.
- Outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
- Exposure to cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Active contribution to requirements gathering and technical design.
- Past experience in Retail, FMCG, Logistics or Supply Chain is advantageous though not essential.
