As a key member of the Risk team, you’ll work closely with the Control and Assurance team towards the delivery of HESTA’s annual control testing plan in line with our Enterprise Control Testing Methodology. Your role will help ensure our control environment is robust, forward-looking, and continuously improving.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the delivery and execution of the Annual Controls Assurance plan.
- Conduct testing of controls that help inform risk assessments to mitigate enterprise risks or meet compliance and regulatory obligations.
- Perform risk-based assessments to evaluate the design and effectiveness of controls that manage enterprise, compliance, and regulatory risks.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify, communicate, and remediate control gaps, and enhance control performance.
- Provide practical, forward-thinking advice on control design and implementation to address emerging risks and regulatory developments.
- Champion process improvement by enhancing and automating elements of the control testing methodology.
- Support the ongoing maintenance of our assurance and control framework, ensuring alignment with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
You’ll Also Bring
- Proven experience conducting design and operational effectiveness testing of controls.
- Strong working knowledge of GRC systems (e.g., Archer, Protecht) and assurance frameworks.
- A curious, analytical mind with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Communication and stakeholder engagement skills — you influence, advise, and guide with credibility and clarity.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Risk, or Information Systems are highly regarded.
