Are you an experienced in-house recruiter with excellent project management and organisation skills?

About us

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is the independent prosecuting authority responsible for the prosecution of all serious indictable offences committed against the laws of New South Wales.

Our vision is to be a dynamic prosecution service recognised for our excellence and leadership. We act with integrity, by behaving ethically and professionally.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace by providing ongoing support and opportunities for all staff.

The Role

Joining a friendly team, you will work collaboratively with the broader HR Team to ensure quality talent attraction, selection and assessment solutions are delivered across the Office.

Based in our Sydney office, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end recruitment support across our 10 offices within NSW. You will be recruiting solicitor roles at all levels of experience, legal admin roles and corporate services positions (including IT, Finance and Procurement). This will include recruitment planning and scheduling, shortlisting, interviews and assessments and the delivery of innovative solutions across the entire attraction and selection process.

You will be involved in face-to-face interviews as well as substantial report writing. Hence you will need to have excellent project management skills, oral communication skills and enjoy written work. The role offers a great mix of face-to-face stakeholder and candidate engagement, as well as focused time to compile substantial recruitment reporting for Executive sign off.

About you

  • Prior in-house recruitment experience, with proven stakeholder management and consulting skills. Prior experience within the Government sector is desirable, however is not essential.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. This role involves a high component of report writing (if written work does not appeal, this role may not be suitable to you).
  • Have demonstrated experience delivering quality talent attraction, selection and assessment solutions.
  • Be confident in taking the lead in recruitment discussions, being relied on for your knowledge of recruitment related legislative and regulatory compliance and standards.
  • Enjoy building collaborative relationships, be a pragmatic thinker with sound judgement and have the ability to make prompt reliable decisions.

Why choose the ODPP

As the prosecuting authority of NSW, the ODPP offers unique career opportunities.

You will:

  • Be based in our brand-new office at Parkline Place, next door to Gadigal Metro station on Pitt Street in the heart of Sydney.
  • Enjoy flexible work practices, 35-hour work week, access to flex leave, and hybrid ways of working (minimum 3 days in the office).
  • Undertake challenging work that makes a difference to the community.
  • Have excellent working conditions with a strong focus on staff wellbeing, health and safety (including access to 24/7 EAP services, a wellbeing check program, access to special fitness passport rates, and workplace adjustments).
  • Have access to training and development opportunities.
  • Have the opportunity to join five affinity groups including First Nations, Disability and Neurodiversity, People of Diverse Genders and Sexualities, Women, and Cultural and Linguistic Diversity. These groups foster inclusion by providing a network for social connection, support, advocacy, and a platform to share experiences and stories.

Interviews

  • The interview process will include capability-based assessments which may require your time and presence on more than one day.

A talent pool will be created for future ongoing and temporary, full-time/part-time positions that may arise over the next 18 months.
