This role oversees the management of Strategic Account teams, ensuring retention and growth objectives are met, and works alongside the Head of Sales to drive overall business performance. You will work in partnership with the National Business Development Manager (NBDM) in execution and sales leadership. The role will have leadership responsibility of two direct reports (Sydney & Melbourne) and seven indirect reports (nationally dispersed)
As the National Account Manager (NAM), you will be responsible for executing profitable sales growth across Signet’s face-to-face (F2F) business, with a primary focus on retaining and growing Signet’s market share to maximize revenue retention and expansion across national strategic accounts. You will actively demonstrate strong leadership, sales acumen, and the ability to develop and implement effective customer-specific strategies to deliver value and convenience to customers and establish long-term partnerships
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a robust account management strategy to retain and expand market share and achieve set targets in collaboration with the Head of Sales.
- Ensure profitable sales growth and maintenance of all accounts, with a key focus on load containment, packaging, and flexibles.
- Lead the national relationship for a select group of business-critical accounts.
- Develop and implement customer-specific account plans towards profitable sales growth initiatives, Continuous Improvement (CI) projects, and Total Packaging Optimisation (TPO).
- Maintain strong multi-level relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and engagement.
- Lead the contract management and tender process for existing customers, including presentation and proposal preparation.
- In conjunction with Strategic Account Managers, maintain the regional sales strategy, process, and objectives for customer retention and growth.
- Lead and mentor Strategic Account Managers to drive sales performance in their respective regions.
- Drive a CRM culture of quality and compliance for tracking customer interactions, managing pipelines, and improving conversion rates.
- Be an active leader within the Signet Sales Management Team and build a high-performing, motivated, engaged, and safety-focused sales team.
- A proven track record in national account management and high-quality customer retention and growth programs.
- Strong leadership and people management experience, leading sales teams across multiple regions.
- Excellent negotiation and commercial acumen.
- Experience in B2B sales, preferably within industrial, packaging, or logistics industries.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in national accounts, sales, or a similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of CRM and sales technology tools.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Sales, or a related field (preferred).
- A current Australian Driver's license is mandatory.
- Ability to travel interstate and attend weekly/monthly meetings with internal stakeholders as required.
