Site Engineer

Downer is seeking a proactive and experienced Engineer in Routine Maintenance to support our Operations and Project Managers in delivering high-quality infrastructure maintenance projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring contracts are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Role is based at our Walkley Heights office in South Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Support the tendering, planning, and execution of maintenance contracts
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery
• Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed
• Contribute to business improvement initiatives and cost-efficiency strategies
• Maintain strong client relationships and represent Downer professionally

What you'll bring

• Degree in Engineering (civil preferred)
• Valid Driver's Licence
• Experience in contract/project management within civil construction or maintenance
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001, safety, and quality systems
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
