Senior Test Analyst - Baseline Clearance

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Analyst to lead and execute testing activities that validate ICT solutions against quality, functional, performance, and business requirements. Working under limited direction, you will apply sound judgment, initiative, and strong testing expertise to support high-priority digital services across complex enterprise systems.

This role involves working closely with software architects, developers, product owners, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage is comprehensive and aligned to business outcomes. While test automation experience is highly valued, it is not mandatory-strong manual testers with leadership capability are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute complex test plans, test cases, and test data.
• Review and ensure quality of test artefacts prepared by other team members.
• Identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies against requirements.
• Lead test execution efforts across functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Apply technical understanding and business context to validate system behaviour.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor testing progress against schedule and escalate issues as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including process changes and tool enhancements.
• Manage and mentor a small test team, including setting priorities and reviewing performance (if required).
• Ensure test activities comply with internal processes, security guidelines, and quality standards.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

• 10+ years of software testing experience across complex ICT environments.
• 5+ years in a senior or lead testing role, including test planning and stakeholder engagement.
• 3+ years working in Agile or DevOps environments.
• Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, SoapUI, JMeter) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with Services Australia's SDLC, deployment processes, and cyber security policies is an advantage.
• Experience working in government or regulated environments is preferred.
• ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification (preferred).
