Your role at St John of God Langmore Centre
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Mental Health Registered & Enrolled Nurses to join our casual pool across our specialist mental health units, including the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Unit, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Unit, and Adult Mental Health (AMH) Unit.
The AOD Unit comprises 21 beds, the PTSD Unit has 12 beds, and the AMH Unit has 27 beds.
These casual positions offer the flexibility to work across all shifts—morning, afternoon, and night duty—on both weekdays and weekends.
We are particularly interested in nurses with a minimum of three years’ experience in mental health, ideally with skills in AOD detox and withdrawal management, and/or experience supporting patients with PTSD symptoms.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred mental health care

The Position
- Accepts accountability for professional conduct of self within scope of practice
- Ensures that all documentation is accurate, legible and completed in a professional and timely manner and recorded in relevant hospital and/or patient medical records.
- Acts as a role model and resource person for nursing students and nursing colleagues. Aligns theoretical knowledge with clinical practice.
- Conducts direct care and treatment by performing nursing assessments including mental state examinations and risks assessments.
- Develops and evaluates nursing care plans in collaboration with patients/carer and the inter-displinary team.
- Accepts accountability for professional conduct practices within scope of practice.
- Ensures that all documentation is accurate, legible and completed in a professional and timely manner in the patient’s hospital medical records.
- Delivers direct care and treatment by performing accurate mental state examinations and risks assessments.
- Develops and implements nursing care plans in collaboration with patients and the inter-disciplinary team.
- Participates in the nursing process with each individual patient and documents changes in the care plan as required using a bio-psychosocial spiritual approach.

We will offer you
- Registered Nurse hourly rate: $42.94 to $60.65 (casual loading included), plus 12% superannuation
- Enrolled Nurse hourly rate: $37.89 to $45.24 per hour (casual loading included), plus 12% superannuation
