About The Role
As our Manager Regulatory Compliance, you'll play a critical role in shaping and maintaining RACQ's robust compliance framework. You'll be at the forefront of our second line of accountability (2LOD), ensuring we meet all legal and regulatory obligations while aligning with our strategic goals and risk appetite.

About The Role
As our Manager Regulatory Compliance, you'll play a critical role in shaping and maintaining RACQ's robust compliance framework. You'll be at the forefront of our second line of accountability (2LOD), ensuring we meet all legal and regulatory obligations while aligning with our strategic goals and risk appetite.
- Act as a key role model and influencer, fostering a mature compliance risk culture across the entire RACQ Group and Bank.
- Represent the Regulatory Compliance team on relevant committees or working groups as required. Provide guidance and advice to the Line 1 community (including Risk, Compliance and Controls Enablement) to design controls, monitor their effectiveness and operational performance and accurately and transparently escalate matters of concern.
- Oversee and advise on vital compliance obligations, including our AML/CTF program, AFSL Responsible Manager requirements, and regulatory compliance reporting processes, along with associated policies and procedures.
- Lead the delivery of a risk-based annual assurance program for compliance and regulatory obligations which supports effective management of key compliance risks in line with compliance requirements and aligns with the board risk appetite.
- Provide accurate, prompt, and practical compliance advice and support to various business stakeholders.
- Compile essential reports for management, executive, and Board committees, ensuring thorough review by the General Manager Risk and Compliance.
You are a highly experienced and detail-oriented compliance professional with a deep understanding of the financial services regulatory landscape. You possess
- In-depth knowledge of AML/CTF obligations, privacy, Corporations Act, ePayments Code, responsible lending, competition law, and other critical financial services regulations.
- Detailed understanding of current and emerging legal and regulatory compliance specific to retail banking, coupled with proven success in implementing effective frameworks to manage these requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and executing robust assurance activities across various compliance obligations.
- High-level communication skills, including sophisticated professional writing, enabling you to articulate complex concepts clearly, concisely and persuasively.
- A strong commercial mindset with a proven ability to apply commercially oriented problem-solving skills, sound professional judgment, initiative, and strong decision-making in complex and challenging situations.
- Extensive experience successfully engaging, influencing, negotiating, and collaborating with a diverse range of business stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes in fast-paced environments.
