Group General Manager - Higher Education ERP Solutions

As the Group General Manager for Higher Education & Core Services, we're looking for a senior product leader with a strong background in software engineering or architecture and deep experience in SaaS ERP. This is a technical product leadership role, suited to someone who has worked both vendor side and customer side, and understands how to build and scale enterprise-grade software that solves complex problems. You'll oversee the end-to-end product strategy, delivery and performance of our Higher Education SaaS ERP suite, shaping its future in partnership with customers, internal stakeholders and your team.
What you'll be doing…
- Lead the Higher Education & Core Services product group, with full ownership of product strategy, execution, and performance across the portfolio.
- Apply your technical foundation in software engineering or architecture to guide design and delivery decisions, ensuring technical quality and long-term maintainability.
- Use your experience across vendor and customer environments to design solutions that are commercially viable, technically robust, and deeply aligned to customer needs.
- Lead a team of Product General Managers and technical leaders responsible for Product Management, Architecture, Delivery, Testing, Support, and Training.
- Drive a product-led approach across the group, embedding customer focus, data-informed decision making, and continuous improvement.
- Shape and deliver the product roadmap, from discovery through to delivery and post-release enhancements, ensuring strong alignment with market demand.
- Build and grow high-performing teams through coaching, clear direction, and a focus on leadership and accountability.
- Take full accountability for the group's P&L, investment planning, and business case development to support growth and innovation.
- Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to align product outcomes with business performance.
- Represent TechnologyOne externally, building strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry groups to guide product direction and strengthen our position in the market.
- Champion the TechnologyOne Way and our Compelling Customer Experience across all aspects of the group's operations.
Your Talents…
- Mandatory: A strong background in software engineering or architecture, with the ability to engage deeply on technical decisions and system design.
- Significant experience leading product strategy and delivery in a SaaS or enterprise software business.
- Experience working on both the vendor and customer side of complex software implementations-ideally within higher education or government.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, with a proven ability to deliver customer-facing, commercially successful products at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, architects, and support staff.
- Commercially savvy, with P&L ownership experience and a clear understanding of how to align product outcomes to business performance.
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to influence internally and externally.
- Deep familiarity with the ERP or higher education software landscape in Australia and New Zealand.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
