Junior Engineer Process | Water Projects

THE ROLE

Our Water Engineering team is seeking to appoint a Junior Process Engineer to support our design and delivery teams on various key water projects. Based out of our Doggett Street office, this position offers the chance to learn from a team of highly experienced experts while gaining practical experience in your chosen specialty.

We currently have several ongoing projects, along with an exciting and expanding pipeline of work that requires a strong and motivated team to ensure success.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Assist in developing concept and detailed designs, including process calculations and engineering documentation, under senior supervision.
• Support plant commissioning and operational activities, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world projects.
• Interpret and update engineering drawings and models and maintain associated equipment and instrument schedules.
• Contribute to proposals and tenders and engage in client relationship activities like trade shows or industry events.
• Actively participate in safety, quality, and environmental processes in alignment with Downer's Zero Harm standards.

ABOUT YOU

You are a highly motivated and proactive graduate or junior engineer looking to gain experience within a principal contractor or tier 1 environment. Each day will bring new challenges, providing you with both office and site-based exposure alongside some of the industry's top professionals.

• Hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering and bring curiosity, drive, and ideally some hands-on experience through internships or placements.
• Passionate about making a real-world impact through water and wastewater infrastructure, from pipelines to treatment facilities.
• Eager to build foundational knowledge in process engineering, with a focus on creating sustainable solutions in the water sector.
• Ready to get involved, on site and in the office, across every project phase, from design to commissioning.
• Thrive on challenges and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to every task, big or small.
