About The Role

They are searching for a highly organised and motivated Legal Assistant to join their busy and growing Family Law team. This team offers extensive expertise across all family law matters including divorce, property settlement, parenting arrangements, spousal maintenance, enforcement, and dispute resolution.

In this role, you will work closely with all practitioners in the team, taking ownership of providing administrative, secretarial and client management support. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively together.

General Responsibilities Include

  • Responding to all tasks, items or queries in the team's central inbox
  • Regular phone calls with clients to address incoming queries
  • Administrative support for partners, team and clients
  • Calendar management and scheduling
  • Preparing documents and cost agreements
  • File/matter management
  • Processing end of month billing
  • Business Development support

About You

You enjoy working in a team environment and pride yourself on your professionalism and ability to manage multiple competing priorities within a collaborative and supportive setting. As the successful candidate, you may bring:

  • Previous experience in Family Law (highly advantageous)
  • Previous legal experience creating new client matter files, closing and archiving files
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous billing experience
  • Proficient technical and computer knowledge, with advanced skills in MS office
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and assist with competing deadlines
  • Experience with the eCourts portal
