About the Role:
As the Content Editor, you bring our brand story, products and campaigns to life across all customer communication touch points – ensuring every piece of content is purposeful, considered and on-brand.
With a strong copy focus, this role is about more than just words. You’ll be responsible for crafting commercial and compelling customer communication - in close collaboration with the creative team - that delivers on channel and brand goals.
Whether it’s developing content stories, refining product descriptions, editing long-form articles or collaborating on campaign concepts, you ensure that all content is consistent in tone, clear in message, and optimised for customer engagement. You bring a strong editorial eye, a deep understanding of our brand voice, and a clear sense of what makes content perform.
This role is part storyteller, part editor, and part brand guardian – ensuring everything we say through our content sounds distinctly like us, is always created with our customer in-mind and has a clear brand point of view.
About the Team:
Part of the Brand Marketing Team within our broader Marketing Department, the Content Editor reports to our Head of Brand Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Tone of Voice
- Owns and champions the brand tone of voice for Sheet Society, ensuring all customer, external and internal communication sounds like us both in language and tone
- Act as the guardian of our brand tone of voice guidelines, responsibly evolving them as the brand grows to ensure they remain relevant and reflect our personality and audience
- Ensure the broader business understands and adheres to the brand tone of voice guidelines, creating opportunities to coach, share and support, where relevant
Content Planning
- As the Content Editor you lead the content planning process, bringing to life a strong brand point of view and messaging that delivers to campaign, marketing, product and channel briefs
- You collaborate closely with the creative team to ensure copy and visual communication is considered holistically and all content output is considered, commercial, customer-centric and fit for purpose - with a strong focus on driving a call-to-action
- Responsible for the quality assurance of all content output, you act as the final check for all written assets before publishing or release, ensuring accuracy, clarity and quality
Copywriting
- Whilst the Content Editor role is not ‘just’ about words, copywriting is a large part of the role. You will be responsible for writing, editing and proofreading clear, engaging and on-brand content for all customer, internal and external communication, such as:
- Website (product descriptions, landing pages, collection pages, blog)
- Email campaigns and automations
- Paid and organic social media content
- Digital and printed packaging/collateral
- Retail store messaging
- Campaign creative (headlines, taglines, key messaging)
- Create high-performing content informed by channel insights, customer behaviour and business priorities — balancing brand storytelling with commercial impact
- Leverage SEO and AIO insights to guide content creation and optimisation — ensuring it’s discoverable, relevant and on-brand
- Introduce processes that empower team members to independently deliver to the brand tone of voice, without you needing to develop every single piece of copy
Leadership

- Champion and educate on brand tone of voice and writing principles across the broader business
- Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams
- Take accountability of tasks and for the timely delivery of them. We’re a small team and reliability is a big part of why we succeed
- Continuously look for ways to drive improvements, challenge the status quo and try new things

Additional responsibilities or duties may be included within the scope of this role at any time to meet the needs of the business.
About You:
- 3–5 years in a content, copywriting or editorial role, ideally within ecommerce, lifestyle, fashion, beauty or a brand-led consumer environment
- Experienced in content planning and developing commercial and tactical communication (beyond just copy) that drives an action or emotion in the audience
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong grasp of grammar, tone, clarity and structure
- Strong understanding of SEO and creating content that drives performance, integrating keywords seamlessly into brand communication
- A natural storyteller who can flex tone and format across different channels and audience
- Experience working with brand tone of voice guidelines and adapting them across formats
- Highly detail-oriented, with strong organisational and time-management skills
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Aware of industry and market trends with the ability to take generate these into innovative business solutions
- BONUS: Implementation or use of AI tools that support delivery of breadth of copy deliverables, and allow broader team members to independently self-serve and deliver copy that is on-brand
