About The Role
As part of the Operational Modernisation and Performance team reporting to the Program Manager - Operational Change, the Digital Operations Modernisation Manager will lead V/Line’s digital modernisation efforts, driving the transition to a more modern, system-based operations environment.
In this role, you will document the current operational system framework, identify improvements, and collaborate with the Business Information Solutions (BIS) department to ensure successful program delivery.
You will be the subject matter expert for operational systems, developing business cases and investment strategies to secure funding for system upgrades, ensuring modern technologies that meet V/Line’s growing needs. Additionally, you will lead project and change management processes, engage stakeholders, and drive success in a complex, evolving environment.

As a strategic leader with experience in product management, program and change delivery, you will lead digital transformation at V/Line, enhancing operational efficiency and enabling the future growth of our network.

- Document the current-state operational system framework and identify pain points.
- Benchmark V/Line’s systems against industry standards and explore new technologies.
- Develop the future-state operational system framework and secure executive endorsement.
- Create the operations digital modernisation program, consulting with BIS and EPMO.
- Develop system roadmaps and business cases to secure investment.
- Oversee program delivery, managing risks, timelines, and budgets.
- Engage stakeholders regularly, providing progress updates and managing escalations.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and processes.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following:
- Experience advocating for new technologies and systems that improve operational efficiency.
- Experience managing all stages of a product’s journey, supporting collaboration, and making regular improvements to meet user and business needs.
- Familiarity with program and change management frameworks, and the ability to lead projects through their lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement solutions.
- Proven ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels and develop trusted, effective working relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas.
